Workshop on National Branding Strategy for rice from Vietnam: Linking the world image of Vietnam to high quality rice, Hanoi, 22 September 2015

The MALICA (Markets and Agriculture Linkages for Cities in Asia) research platform, in collaboration with the Department of Processing and Trade for Agro-Forestry-Fisheries Products and Salt (under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) and the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam (NOIP))

The under Ministry of Science and Technology), has organized a workshop in Hanoi on National Branding Strategy for rice on 22 September 2015. The scope was to contribute to the ongoing process for the creation of a brand for rice in Vietnam by sharing opinions between specialists from the private and the public sector and learning from international experiences from India and Thailand.

Objectives of the workshop:

  • - Kick-off the Project on national branding for rice
  • - Get understanding about the current rice sector, policy framework, supports, strategies of the Vietnam government on developing a national brand for rice;
  • - Learn from international experiences about national branding of rice: India and Thailand;
  • - Suggest strategic activities for the Project on national branding for rice.
